Veterinary Specialists in Private Practice (VSIPP) was established in 2003 to provide veterinary specialists a forum for networking, motivation, information and communication that will result in a better understanding of the challenges they face in large group practices while serving the human-animal bond. In just four years, the organization has become the leading business management and continuing education conference for veterinary specialists.

The producers of
VSIPP have surrounded themselves with the knowledge and experience of some of the most respected and experienced individuals in this unique field. But to plan the organization’s annual conference, the company knew they would need to rely on specialists outside their chosen profession. They contacted CMI Resources during the start-up stage, to take advantage of the travel management company’s expertise from the first phase through the last.

“Before the conference even existed,
CMI got to work on logistics and marketing, and at the conference they handled all operations for the event on site,” said VSIPP Partner Shawn McVey. One attendee commented that he had never worked with a group that was more organized, more receptive, more accommodating and more committed to the shared goals of a professional conference.

But even
CMI’s expertise would be tested by events the following year. “We had a hotel contracted in Mexico, but two months before the conference a hurricane wiped it out,” McVey recalled. “But CMI was able to move the conference to Scottsdale AZ. They not only had to find a new destination, they had to re-market that destination on an abbreviated schedule. But everything went off without a hitch. The conference was so successful that we doubled our attendance.”
